CI-6759A USB/Serial Adapter not properly identified if attached during startup.

My CI-6759A USB/Serial Converter is not detected by Capstone unless I disconnect it and reconnect it after computer reboot.

If your CI-6759A is not properly identifying without being unplugged and reconnected, this indicates that your CI-6759A needs a firmware update.

Install the latest version of PASCO Capstone
Turn on the ScienceWorkshop interface.
Connect the CI-6759A adapter to a USB port
Run Capstone
Click the Hardware Setup button in on the left tool palette
Click Choose Interface.
Select PASPORT Interface
Capstone should prompt you to update the firmware on the device. Allow the firmware update to proceed
When finished, select Choose Interface and select either ScienceWorkshop 500 or ScienceWorkshop 750
Close Capstone
The next time your computer is rebooted, the CI-6759A should be detected without disconnecting it from the USB port

If this does not resolve the issue try connecting the CI-6759A to a USB2 port. Occasionally USB3 ports are not compatible with the CI-6759A adapter.

DataStudio Demo/Lite Notes

DataStudio Lite requires no license key and offers complete access to the full DataStudio feature set for 90 days after installation. After 90 days, DataStudio will continue to work with the reduced 'Lite' feature set. You can enter a purchased license key (choose 'Change License Key' from the DataStudio 'Help' menu) to permanently enable the full feature set. The WAVEPORT trial period is 30 days.

License Key Notes

Have your license key(s) available to enter the first time you run DataStudio, or click the lite/demo buttons if you have not purchased a DataStudio or WAVEPORT license.

Updating GLX Firmware with DataStudio

To check the version of firmware currently installed on your GLX, open the Settings screen and press F4.

Installing updates may delete files saved in the RAM and Flash folders of the GLX. Transfer stored files to your computer before upgrading the GLX. (See GLX manual for more info.)

Updating from a Computer - Once the update is on your computer, connect the GLX to the USB port and run DataStudio. When DataStudio detects a GLX running an older firmware version, it will give the option of upgrading that GLX.

Updating from a USB Flash Drive - Connect the USB flash drive containing the update to the GLX’s USB port. Open the Data Files screen. Press to open the Files menu and select Upgrade GLX Firmware.

Note: GLX firmware can also be updated using SPARKvue or PASCO Capstone
